ABOUT US
La Rosa Hotel is a destination for romance, escapism and fantasy.
Situated in an elegant period townhouse on Whitby's West Cliff, our hotel was once a favourite of Lewis Carroll and boasts one of the finest views in the country... Facing us across the picturesque harbour are the ruins of Whitby Abbey, inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula.
Each of our unique rooms have been lovingly designed using Whitby's rich heritage as inspiration. Furnished with thrift shop finds and carefully sourced antique kitsch, fun and opulence are high on the agenda throughout
Our Victorian tearoom serves home made cakes and drinks and is available for private hire, as is the whole hotel - a perfect destination for family get togethers and celebrations.
You won't find TVs or telephones in our rooms... La Rosa is a place to unwind and get away from it all. However, we do have a great selection of books and vintage records available in our Cocktail Library for when the mist rolls in, as well as free wifi throughout the hotel.

We've got the best!
We take our music selection seriously at la Rosa...
With nearly 40 years DJing experience, owner Rob has amassed a huge vinyl collection from which our soundtrack is taken. If you were out on Call Lane in the nineties or Tib Street in the noughties, you've probably seen him behind the decks rummaging through a crate of 45s.
We don't use some bog standard hotel music algorithms, just the weird and wonderful records we mix up and play using our Raspberry pi based music server, all recorded from the original vinyl down in the basement.
