• We have updated our booking policy to allow alterations to bookings to be made right up to the day before your stay although greater notice is always much appreciated. We want to reassure you that we will take all necessary steps to help you rearrange your stay when rules permit.


  • We have allowed a 12 month period to re-book your stay if it needs to be rescheduled.

  • As there is limited household mixing indoors, the Crow's Nest is not available for bookings other than by single family units or bubbles.

  • Staff will be wearing face masks and we encourage our guests to do the same.


  • Physical distancing is to be observed in all public places between staff and guests.


  • We are continuing our enhanced cleaning routine as well as using our anti-viral fogger in all the rooms between checkout and check in.

  • Let us know if you need anything as we aren't doing daily services under the current rules. Please leave your breakfast basket outside your door for collection.



La Rosa Hotel have always strived to put the safety of our staff and visitors above all else. Working together, staff and management at the hotel are taking all of the appropriate measures to reduce the risks from COVID-19 for our team, guests and other visitors to the hotel.

To this end, we have carried out a Risk Assessment and have developed the controls required to reduce the risks we identified. As a result of this, we have invested in new equipment and implemented a number of procedures to reduce the risk of infection and ensure that the hotel is as safe as possible. Our procedures are kept under constant review  and are regularly updated to reflect the latest advice.



  • Hand sanitiser stations are located throughout the hotel. Please use them frequently

  • Screens have been installed at reception with signage explaining the systems we have in place.

  • Bedrooms are disinfected with anti-viral fogging equipment after each check out.

  • Please wear your mask when arriving at reception and in public areas of the hotel eg. in corridors, and on the stairs. Masks can be removed when seated in the Cocktail Library & Tearoom or your own bedroom.


  • We have systems in place to reduce  contact between staff and guests as much as possible.

  • Our Tea Room will remain closed for the time being and the hotel will be open for residents only.


  • Table service only in the Cocktail Library with a limited number of seats in order to maintain social distancing.

  • We have implemented procedures and protocols where social contact cannot be avoided by ensuring appropriate measures/barriers are introduced to reduce the risk of infection.

  • Cleaning and sanitising is carried out on a regular basis to the highest of standards in all areas of the site, with particular emphasis on regular touch points.

  • Appropriate PPE is made available for staff.

  • Facilities and materials for effective hand washing and hand sanitising are made available for staff and guests throughout the hotel.

  • The latest up to date information/guidance on Covid-19 from the UK Government is made readily available to all staff and guests in the form of information posters around the hotel, regular correspondence with staff and guests and regular staff meetings.

  • Sorry, but we are not currently taking any bookings for events/private hire/weddings etc.




Keys will be disinfected with anti viral solution once they have been returned to reception upon checking out.


Our Tea Room is currently closed to non residents in order to reduce congestion at reception.


Extra cleaning will be taking place on a constant basis in the public areas of the hotel. We hope to avoid any inconvenience and ask for your understanding if things take a bit longer than normal as our staff may not always be immediately available for you.

We will also be fogging the rooms with anti-viral solution in between stays  in order to thoroughly disinfect the environment.


Due to the shared facilities in the Crow's Nest, we are only letting this apartment out to family units or those within the same support bubble. Please don't book if you don't fit into either of these categories


Check in is strictly from 4PM. Please do not arrive at the hotel before this as we will not be able to admit you.

Parking discs are available in our lobby so just help yourself if you arrive early and are parked in a disc zone. We can replace this with a parking scratch card once you are checked in.

Please wear a mask when checking in and when you are in public areas of the hotel.


We are only accepting card payments at this time.


In order to reduce the number of guests our staff come into contact with, we are bringing in a minimum stay of 2 nights per booking. We will be offering discounts for longer stays.


From 2nd of December 2020, Whitby will be placed in Tier 2 restrictions.


Unfortunately, this means that we won't be able to serve alcohol to guests for the time being.
