By Car from the South
Guests arriving from the South should aim for YORK. Take the A64 North towards Scarborough. Leave the A64 just after Malton onto the A169 to Pickering and over the moors to WHITBY. The village of GOATHLAND is clearly signposted off to the left approx 15 miles from Pickering, 8 miles before Whitby. As you enter the village of Goathland, take the left turn, signposted ROMAN ROAD & EGTON (the site entrance is 2.7 miles from this sign) . The road goes over a cattle grid then drops down, over a narrow bridge and then rises up again. The road bears left and then right past a large farm & a few hundred yards later, past a resevoir called 'Randy Mere' and then on past a single house on the left called 'Strunthy Carr'. There are open fields on the left and on the right there is a plantation of pine trees which comes to an end at a farm track on the right with a Public Footpath sign. Turn right down the farm track, which bears left, then right and then down a hill and round a bend and drops down into a farmyard, continue straight ahead through the gate & you will see La Rosa as you get a little further down the track. Please park your car on the gravelled area to the left of the house gate.

PLEASE drive slowly and carefully down the farm track as there are wild animals(deer, pheasant etc), farm animals (sheep, lambs, cows) and domestic animals (horses, dogs and cats) in the fields and farm yards......and it's very bumpy - so careful on that suspension !!

By Car from the North
If you are arriving from the North you should aim for Middlesbrough and then take the A171 South towards GUISBOROUGH and on towards WHITBY. The village of EGTON is clearly signposted off to the right approx 15 miles from Guisborough, 8 miles before Whitby. Drive through the village of EGTON and down into the village of EGTON BRIDGE, past the train station, under the bridge and follow the road round to the right, over the river and then take the left turn signposted to GOATHLAND, continue up the hill for a few hundred yards and then turn left again, signposted GOATHLAND and PICKERING. Follow the road up the hill and onto the top of the moor, on your right you can see a stone cross and then the road drops down again, there are open feilds on both sides but ahead of you, on the left is a plantation of fir trees, turn left down the farm track immediately in front of these trees, the farm track bears left, then right and then down a hill and round a bend and drops down into a farmyard, continue straight ahead through the gate & you will see La Rosa as you get a little further down the track.
