La Rosa is situated between the villages of Goathland and Egton, approx 8 miles from Whitby on the North Yorkshire coast. Take the A64 North towards Scarborough. Leave the A64 just after Malton onto the A169 to Pickering and over the moors to WHITBY. The village of GOATHLAND is clearly signposted off to the left approx 15 miles from Pickering, 8 miles before Whitby. In Goathland take the Egton Bridge / Roman Road turn-off near the Mallyan Spout Hotel and our track is on the right-hand side 2.7 miles from this point. (We are situated at the end of avery rural farm track, please drive very slowly!) By car (from the north): If you are arriving from the North you should aim for Middlesbrough and then take the A171 South towards GUISBOROUGH and on towards WHITBY. The village of EGTON is clearly signposted off to the right approx 15 miles from Guisborough, 8 miles before Whitby. Drive through Egton and egtonbridge. Take the left turn to Goathland and Pickering. Go past Esk Valley on the left and a stone cross on the moor on the right. Take the next left-turn down our drive (we are situated at the end of a very rural farm track, please drive slowly!) By bus: There is a regular bus service to Whitby from LEEDS & YORK or MIDDLESBROUGH and buses from Whitby run to Goathland and Egton. By rail: There is a British Rail train service to Whitby from MIDDLESBOROUGH. The beautiful North Yorkshire Moors Railway runs steam trains from Pickering to nearby Grosmont, and this would be a fabulous way to arrive if you travel light. On foot: Arriving here by bus or train will mean travelling the last part of your journey to La Rosa along the public footpath and involves a 20 minute walk through the woods.
